Kentucky hosts Kellan Hall for LSU game
The five-star 2028 defensive lineman and top Wildcats target will visit alongside defensive back Grayden Reid on Oct. 10.
OCT 9, 2026

Kentucky will host five-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall for its Saturday, Oct. 10, game against LSU, giving the Wildcats another visit with their top target in the 2028 class. Defensive back Grayden Reid is also expected to return.
Hall’s visit gives Kentucky another chance to turn his interest into a recruiting win that could shape the Wildcats’ future defensive front. Kentucky and LSU enter the 7 p.m. ET kickoff with 4-1 records.
Hall’s return gives the Wildcats another opportunity to make the program’s case to its most prized 2028 defensive target.
01 · The Detail Beneath the HeadlineWhat Most People Are Missing
The deeper recruiting pitch is the difference between Kentucky’s 2025 baseline and what Hall can watch on Oct. 10. The Wildcats finished 5-7 and 2-6 in the SEC last season; at 4-1, they are already one victory short of that overall win total and have matched those two conference wins through three league games. The lone loss was a 45-17 home defeat to Alabama, so the improved record has not produced a comparable home result.
Hall’s visit lets him evaluate that trajectory in a game setting. Kentucky beat Texas A&M 31-21 on Sept. 19 and South Carolina 35-34 on Oct. 3, but LSU starts a three-Saturday run that continues at Oklahoma on Oct. 17 and against Vanderbilt on Oct. 24. Beating another 4-1 team would give the staff stronger evidence that the opening five games represent a break from 2025.
02 · The Open QuestionsQuestions to Be Answered
Can Kentucky give Hall a different home-game picture against LSU?
Kentucky’s first SEC home test ended in a 45-17 loss to Alabama, while its two conference wins came at Texas A&M and South Carolina. LSU arrives at 4-1 after carrying a preseason No. 10 ranking in both major polls. The Oct. 10 scoreboard will show whether Kentucky can pair its road progress with a significant home result during Hall’s return.
When does Hall plan to make his college choice?
Hall has no reported commitment timeline, leaving Kentucky’s Oct. 10 opportunity without a defined decision point. An announced timeline would show whether the LSU visit belongs to an extended recruitment or comes closer to a choice. Until Hall provides one, the next concrete tell will be another reported visit, a declared decision date or a commitment.
